01Overview
This Refund Policy explains how payments and refunds work when you use Azad Insurance. Because we are an independent insurance guidance service and not an insurance company, most payments related to insurance are made directly to, and refunded by, the insurance provider you choose.
02Our Guidance Is Free
Azad Insurance does not charge consumers any fee for calls, coverage explanations or comparison guidance. Since you pay us nothing for these Services, there is nothing for us to refund.
Please note: We will never ask you to pay us a fee for advice or to “unlock” a quote. If anyone claiming to represent Azad Insurance asks you for such a payment, please do not pay and contact us immediately at (888) 850-0913.
03Insurance Premiums
Premiums, down payments, policy fees and installment charges for auto, car, vehicle, travel or home insurance are paid directly to the insurance provider that issues your policy. Refunds of these amounts are handled solely by that provider and are governed by your policy contract and the insurance laws of your state. We do not collect, hold or process premium payments.
04Policy Cancellations
Most auto and home insurance policies can be cancelled at any time by contacting your insurance provider. Depending on the provider and your state, you may receive:
- A pro-rata refund: the unused portion of your prepaid premium is returned in full.
- A short-rate refund: the unused premium is returned minus a cancellation fee or penalty.
- No refund: where the premium has been fully earned or a minimum-earned premium applies.
Before cancelling a policy, make sure replacement coverage is in place. Driving without required auto insurance or letting a mortgage-required home policy lapse can lead to penalties or force-placed coverage.
05Free-Look Periods
Some insurance policies include a “free-look” period, often 10 to 15 days after purchase, during which you can review the policy and cancel for a full refund if no claim has been made. The length and availability of a free-look period depend on the type of policy, the provider and your state. Check your policy documents or ask your provider for details.
06Travel Insurance Refunds
Many travel insurance plans offer a review period after purchase during which you can cancel for a full premium refund, provided you have not started your trip or filed a claim. After this period, travel insurance premiums are usually non-refundable. Trip cancellation benefits, which reimburse covered prepaid trip costs, are separate from premium refunds and depend on the covered reasons listed in your plan.
07Charges Made in Error
If you believe you were charged by Azad Insurance in error, contact us within 60 days of the charge. We will investigate promptly and, if the charge is confirmed as an error, issue a full refund to the original payment method within 7 to 10 business days of approval.
08How We Can Help
Although premium refunds are issued by insurance providers, we are happy to help you understand the process. Call us and we can explain your options, help you identify the right contact at your provider and outline the information you will typically need, such as your policy number, effective dates and requested cancellation date.
09Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
